Every third mouthful of our food would not be possible without the pollination services of our 250 wild bee species. Yet pesticides, modern agricultural practices, and low nectar-yielding ornamental plants make life very difficult for them. A quarter of all bee species are now endangered. Everyone should try to attract these wonderful pollinators to their garden. There are many types of be including bumblebees, mason bees, leaf-cutter bees, flower bees, mining bees and honey bees (introduced).
